I wasn't very pleasant. The ball was covered with soot and Jack wasn't interested in chasing it--only dropping it over the edge and watching it bounce and bounce and bounce forever with no vegetation to stop it. He was sure he had a mechanical rabbit. Then there were the gnats! I didn't know that they were the first life form to emerge after a fire. They were so thick it was hard to see my way out of a swarm! Once they identified a warm body, they created a beehive hair-do to travel the rest of the way. Unfortunately I passed through several dozen. By the time I got back to the car I was staggering with the weight. I came home with one in my eye and had to have Helen help me get it out!
